Our Network

Our medical tourism network in Mexico is one of the greatest strengths of Voyages Renaissance. It was not built through a few online searches or by simply assembling a list of providers. It has developed over the years through hundreds of journeys, shared experiences, and relationships built directly in the field.

From Quebec to Mérida, we have learned to know the people we collaborate with, how they work, their roles, and their strengths. Some collaborations have developed gradually over time, others emerged from needs identified throughout different journeys, and many have grown stronger year after year.

Today, this network brings together healthcare professionals, hospitals, support resources, and independent service providers, each contributing within their own area of expertise.

Its true value is not simply found in the number of people who are part of it. It lies in the relationships that have been built, the experience accumulated together, our knowledge of the local environment, and our ability to coordinate these different resources around a single journey.

Services can be replicated. A list of providers can be created. But a mature network, built on trust and years of shared experience, cannot be copied.

The healthcare professionals, collaborators, and facilities presented in this section operate independently. Evaluations, recommendations, advice, treatments, and medical decisions remain the exclusive responsibility of the professionals involved.

Dr. Medina specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and has collaborated with Voyages Renaissance for several years. He has supported many clients in reconstruction projects following major weight loss, as well as cosmetic surgery procedures. Having personally undergone bariatric surgery and a hair transplant, he also brings a personal understanding of some of the realities experienced by patients, particularly the physical changes that can accompany significant weight loss and hair loss. He has also completed training in hair transplantation in Türkiye, adding hair restoration to his areas of expertise.

Dr Israel Augusto Gonzàlez

Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeon
Dr. González specializes in bariatric and metabolic surgery, with expertise in the surgical treatment of obesity and metabolic diseases. His interest in this specialty is also deeply personal: a family history involving his grandfather helped shape his commitment to supporting people affected by obesity.
Highly attuned to the realities faced by his patients, he is actively involved in the obesity community, research, and the ongoing evolution of bariatric surgery practices. Trained in Mexico and internationally, particularly in laparoscopic, robotic, and revisional surgery, he has also treated many Quebec patients throughout his collaboration with Voyages Renaissance.

Beyond titles and professional experience, these relationships have also been shaped through hundreds of encounters and shared journeys over the years. Here are a few moments captured alongside some of the people we have had the privilege of supporting.

By Your Side in Mérida

Over the years, Voyages Renaissance has developed long-term collaborations with individuals who contribute directly to the smooth coordination and overall experience of our clients while in destination. Nursing care, transportation, local travel, and on-site support: each person plays a specific role in helping provide a professional, reassuring, and well-organized experience throughout the stay.
Built through many years of travel and hundreds of journeys supported, these relationships allow us to work with people who understand our clients, our approach to coordinating medical travel, and the unique realities that can accompany this type of experience.

All collaborators operate independently within their respective fields. Nursing care and any medical decisions remain exclusively the responsibility of the healthcare professionals involved.

Professionals Here at Home, in Quebec

Our collaboration with Nursing at Home began with a human story. Sabrina, the founder, and Stéphanie, an IPSPL within her team, both personally experienced the support provided through Voyages Renaissance.

Over time, a relationship of trust and friendship developed. Our paths later came together professionally, creating a natural collaboration between our two organizations and providing clients with access to certain evaluations, nursing services, and professional follow-up care in Quebec, both before departure and after returning home.

Today, we are particularly proud to collaborate with Nursing at Home and with healthcare professionals we trust deeply, both for their expertise and for the human qualities they bring to the people we support.

Sabrina Dubé

Clinical Nurse & Founder of Nursing at Home
A clinical nurse since 2015 and holder of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Sabrina gained her experience within the hospital network before founding Nursing at Home. Today, her company provides a variety of nursing services both in-home and in-clinic throughout the Quebec region, including postoperative care and follow-up services. Her approach is centered on accessible, personalized, and deeply human care.

Stéphanie Dazé

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP)
As a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Stéphanie brings several years of experience within Quebec’s healthcare system. A former Voyages Renaissance client who personally underwent bariatric surgery with Dr. González’s team, she combines her clinical expertise with a very personal understanding of the realities experienced by patients.

A Multidisciplinary Bariatric Care Team

Our collaboration with Parlons Bariatrique goes beyond complementary services. It is rooted in a shared vision of what support should look like for someone choosing bariatric surgery.

We share the belief that a person should never be reduced to their weight, their procedure, or a number on a scale. Every journey deserves to be approached with respect, compassion, transparency, and without judgment, while providing each person with the tools needed to better understand their process and become an active participant in their own journey.

One of Parlons Bariatrique’s greatest strengths is its multidisciplinary team, bringing together complementary areas of expertise around the individual. This approach naturally complements the support offered by Voyages Renaissance and extends beyond the surgical procedure itself.

Two teams, different expertise, but one shared objective: to support the whole person throughout their journey and help create meaningful, lasting change.

Evelyne Bergevin, RD

Registered Dietitian & Co-Founder of Parlons Bariatrique
Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist for nearly 20 years, Evelyne is a graduate of the Université de Montréal and holds advanced training in nutrition with a focus on the psychology of eating behaviour, along with specialized expertise in bariatric surgery and obesity management.
Her approach extends far beyond nutrition alone. She considers the nutritional, medical, behavioural, and human factors that accompany bariatric surgery. Known for her ability to simplify complex concepts with clarity, kindness, and authenticity, she helps people better understand their journey and build sustainable, long-term changes..

Christian Roberge

Co-Founder of Parlons Bariatrique & Patient Partner
As co-owner and administrative manager of Parlons Bariatrique, Christian brings a complementary perspective: lived experience. Having personally undergone SADI-S bariatric surgery in 2022, he has navigated many of the questions, challenges, and adjustments that can accompany this type of journey. Through his involvement and advocacy, he helps guide people toward appropriate resources while contributing to a broader understanding of the patient experience. His voice helps ensure that the realities of those who have undergone bariatric surgery remain an important part of the conversation within the bariatric community.

Faro del Mayab Hospital

A Modern Hospital Environment in the Heart of Mérida

For cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, the environment in which a procedure takes place is an important part of the overall journey.

Faro del Mayab is a modern private hospital equipped with comprehensive hospital infrastructure, including operating rooms, intensive care services, a blood bank, a laboratory, and diagnostic imaging services.

For journeys coordinated through Voyages Renaissance, cosmetic and reconstructive procedures are performed within this hospital environment by the independent surgeons and medical teams involved.

We place great importance on ensuring that our clients undergo their procedures in a true hospital setting rather than in a clinic, providing access to a broader range of on-site medical resources, particularly when major procedures are involved.

Because in medical tourism, choosing the right surgeon matters, but the environment in which that surgeon practices matters too.

Camino Real Mérida

An Environment Chosen for Your Comfort During Recovery

Located directly across from Faro del Mayab Hospital, Camino Real Mérida provides a comfortable and practical environment for the recovery period following surgery. Its proximity to the hospital also facilitates travel for follow-up appointments and allows clients to remain close to the facility where their care was provided.
Over the years and through the many stays organized in Mérida, this hotel has become a familiar environment for our team. Comfortable accommodations, accessibility, on-site dining options, and proximity to essential services all contribute to creating a setting well suited for rest and recovery.
For us, accommodation is an important part of the overall medical travel experience. After surgery, comfort, simplicity, and proximity matter.t.

A Network That Finds Its True Value When Working Together

A medical travel project involves multiple areas of expertise, organizations, and individuals, sometimes across two different countries. Each plays a specific role and remains responsible for their own services. But for the person travelling, all of these steps need to come together as part of a coordinated journey.

That is where the experience and network of Voyages Renaissance truly make a difference.

Our role is to connect these different resources, coordinate the stages surrounding your journey, facilitate communication, and help ensure that everyone involved has the information they need to fulfill their role.

Through years of experience and hundreds of journeys, we have learned who to contact, how to coordinate the different stages, which resources to turn to when needed, and how to keep information flowing as situations evolve.

The strength of our network is not found solely in the people who are part of it, but in the relationships, collaborative habits, and shared experience that have been built over time.

A network can be recreated on paper. The ability to make it work together is built over time.
